Lock Up Your Shoes; Goldblade Hit The Road!
Well, that’s what we’d say if they weren’t already working the coolest shoes this side of the 50’s!
Underground’s longest serving punk rock convicts are Goldblade, fronted by the mighty John Robb. Formed in 1995 after Robb’s previous band The Membranes dissolved, Goldblade have gone on to tour the world, make record after record and continually grace the planet’s sweatiest punk stages wearing our rad designs.
If you haven’t already watched him chatting away in this month’s video interview ‘John Robb on John Robb’, well, where have you been?!
If you want to catch the live show in action – mixing rock n’ roll with raw punk power – Goldblade can be found in a darkened basement near you from April…

John Robb On John Robb
See it here first: northern punk’s very own motor mouth John Robb talking about all things err, John Robb. Good eh? From music to fashion, books to predictions for 2009, John tells all whilst sporting those infamous white creepers. And that hair’s not looking too shabby either!

Models wanted
Calling All New Models
If you want a chance to feature on our website, myspace and music/fashion blog wearing our gear, check this out!
We’re looking for 3 models for a shoot happening in the London area on the last week of April. We are arranging two different shoots:
One for Underground Originals and the other for Underground Shoes.
For the first, we are looking for a male model, tall, preferably dark hair, slender, edgy, and very Rock n Roll! Hedi Slimane types please!
For the second we are looking for a quirky, fun M/F couple that are fans of creepers. Lots of colour, alternative and exciting look
This shoot is unpaid, however, expenses will be covered and the models will get a free pair of shoes each.
It will be fun and you will build up your portfolio with some great photos.
If you are over 18 and are interested in, please send some recent photos; a head shot and full body shot to press@underground-england.co.uk
We look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers

Blue Blood Talk Shop!
The interview with our new kid, Matt from Blue Blood, is finally here! He’s on camera telling us about his career so far and it’s good stuff.
So if you’re interested in tattoos, are thinking about opening you’re own business amidst the credit crunch, or are just bored at work and want to see the video we made after eating chip barms one Saturday to distract yourself from the 5th biscuit you’re about to dunk in your cuppa, watch on!
Go on, I know you want to, nosy.

Remember when…
We told you back in January that our Manc mayhem crew SB6 are touring with The Beat? Well, it was true and everything, they’re at Manchester Academy tonight!
Ps. You can now follow, ok, we clearly mean ’stalk from the comfort of your sofa’ the band’s punk-rock-dub-star-mini-mouse front woman Laila K on Twitter!

Punktastic!
This month at Underground has been a good one, and by good, I mean full of punk! We went back to Blue Blood Tattoos to finish our interview with Matt, who I then bumped into at the Shred Yr Face 2 show in Manchester. He’s not the only familiar face from round these parts… None other than John Robb was spotted watching his favourite new band, F***ed Up, with one hell of a big smile on his mug! They are awesome though.
If you want to learn more about what the bands of the Shred Yr Face 2 tour are listening to right now, you can check out their top 4 download choices on NME.com:
Anyways, back to the rascal that is John Robb, he popped into the office for a chat in our new showroom to discuss his love for music, his new book and of course, his favourite Underground shoes!

Check back shortly for a video interview with the man himself; musician, author, legend and long time wearer of our Creeper designs.

Heavy Sounds This Way Come
CAN YOU HEAR THE EXCITEMENT?
Can you? No, of course you can’t because your iPod is currently blasting the sound of evil so loud you’ll have eternal ringing from this day forth. And yeah, even your ear doctor knows it’s worth it.
The tour we’ve been waiting for since, well, our whole lives actually, is almost upon us and life probably won’t ever be this good again. So what the hell am I talking about? Only the line up that’ll make you want to quit your day job, grow a beard (and a belly) and work your vocals over post hardcore noise more accurately than Delia Smith knows her way around a boiled egg competition.
The Bronx, LA’s melodic scream merchants with support from now legendary Canadian’s F’d Up and Sheffield’s very own teen terrors Rolo Tomassi, come to Manchester on February 28th!
A full list of tour dates from this hysteria-inducing mayhem can be found below below:
26 Feb 2009 – Cockpit – Leeds
27 Feb – Garage – Glasgow
28 Feb 2009 – Club Academy – Manchester
1 Mar – Rough Trade Shop Shoreditch – London
2 Mar – Clwb Ifor Bach – Cardiff
3 Mar 2009 – Rescue Rooms -Nottingham
4 Mar – Electric Ballroom – London
5 Mar – Concorde – Brighton
6 Mar – Academy – Birmingham
Ps. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of this month’s Rock Sound magazine to read all about what the bands think Punk means in 2009

Now, who’s ready to talk Gallows? ; )

Armand Basi

A more toned down show than Mr Gaultier but never the less very cool!
Loose fitted, monochrome, biker jackets…
The black Underground creepers were a perfect choice for the footwear of this collection.
It added that certain tough R’n R’ attitude to the moody collection.
